Seattle Detached Adu Construction
This Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) project in Seattle represents a collaborative effort where NBE LLC took over the framing and full finishing stages after another contractor completed the foundation work. The goal of this build is to create a modern, energy-efficient living space that complements the primary residence while maximizing lot functionality and value.
CHALLENGES:
- The existing foundation was completed by a separate contractor, requiring precise field measurements and verification before vertical construction could begin.
- Integration with existing site utilities and setbacks within Seattle’s zoning requirements.
- Tight working conditions within a residential neighborhood requiring careful coordination and staging.
SOLUTIONS:
- Complete structural framing and roof assembly, following engineered plans and Seattle residential code requirements.
- Installation of sheathing, weather barrier, and window framing to prepare the building envelope for inspections.
- Coordination of upcoming electrical, plumbing, and HVAC rough-ins under NBE’s managed trades.
- Planned interior finishes to include drywall, flooring, custom millwork, and exterior siding designed for long-term durability.
CURRENT STATUS:
- Framing and roof work are substantially complete. Exterior detailing, utilities, and interior finishing will follow.
- Additional progress photos and video updates will be added as the project advances through each stage of completion.
